The Red Devil Softball Club will hold tryouts for 8U, 10U, 12U and 14U. The mission of the Red Devil Softball Club is to provide opportunities to girls who live in the Bradford HS boundary area; therefore, roster spots will be reserved for those players who reside in the Bradford boundary.
The Red Devil Softball Club encourages girls to be multi-sport athletes. At all levels, girls will be excused from fall, winter, and spring team practices when they conflict with their other sports. However, a full commitment to the entire summer practice and game schedule is required.
Here is some information on the teams:
8U - Coach Karen Trujillo
The 8 and Under team will participate in the Boys and Girls Club summer league and play two weekend tournaments in July. They will practice one day per week in January-March and 2-3 days per week in the spring before their summer season begins.
10U - Coach Amy Jacob
The 10 and Under team will participate in either the Boys and Girls Club summer league or the Wisconsin Fastpitch League and they will play 3-4 weekend tournaments in June-July. They will practice indoors 1-2 days per week in the winter and 2-3 days per week in the spring before the summer season begins.
12U - Coach John Ruffolo
The 12 and Under team will participate in the Wisconsin Fastpitch League and they will play 4-5 weekend tournaments in June-July. They will practice indoors 1-2 days per week in the winter and 2-3 days per week in the spring before the summer season begins.
14U - Co-coaches Jackie Schmit and Matt Strelow
The intent of the 14 and Under team is to prepare players to compete at the highest levels in both high school and travel softball. They will play 7-8 total tournaments, including fall/winter tournaments and a potential regional/national tournament at the end of the summer. Overnight stays will be required for some tournaments. In addition to attending indoor team practices 1-2 days per week, players will be required to do individual training, such as pitching or hitting lessons. Pre-HS players will practice 2-3 days per week in the spring while the HS-age players participate on their high school teams.
